Hello, we are venturing to the UK in January for the first time from France with our dog. Her EU/French pet passport was issued in January 2020; all her vaccinations are/will be up to date including her rabies jab which she is due to have in December so at least 21 days before travel. I am aware that she needs the tapeworm treatment and will book that in. So here’s my question - The guidance on the UK govt says ‘Pet passports issued from 29 December 2014 - If the rabies vaccination record is a sticker, it must be covered by a laminated strip (included with the pet passport).’ Neither of her previous two rabies jabs stickers are laminated - I will speak to the vet of course, but wanted to check if others have had an issue when the stickers aren’t laminated? Should I insist my vet does this and if they say they can’t, can I laminate them myself? (There are not laminated strips with the passport)
I’ve just checked our two dogs French passports and neither of their rabies vaccines stickers are covered by a laminated strip..We have had no difficulties whatsoever going to the UK…. Have you thought about calling the Pet Passports office at Eurotunnel (or whichever route you take) to see if they even think this is an issue? I’d be surprised! Do update us if you hear anything concerning, or otherwise….
