Indeed it is. It’s also what makes it go around corners at unbelievable speeds. If you look at videos of it in action, you would swear it was speeded up but it isn’t .

So did you buy it?
I won’t be in the market for an electric car (or any new car) until after I move to France, but the R5 does tickle my fancy. All the YouTube car bods seem to like it, and I think it’s a nicer looking car than many electrics, which can veer towards weirdness.
I quite like the R4, its nod to the old version and quite a bit more room than the 5 bit still firmly sitting on the fence for now, hopefully the MPV models will follow.

I watched a YouTube video by Johnny Smith from the Late Break Show, where he did a tour of the Renault factory and you see how the R5 is built. But long but an enjoyable watch nonetheless.
Six months in we love our R5, and as you say the R4 will be a bit bigger. To be fair to the R5 we stuffed it full of stuff we bought in Dublin at Christmas, duvets, sheets (we’ve UK measurement beds in France, some made locally to order 
) and loads of other stuff and she took it all.
As a dyed in the wool car enthusiast for more years than I care to remember, the R5 is 10 out of 10… apart from the Google integrated ICE. Which was a grave mistake.

It was/is rumoured the Espace will appear again as an EV so looking forward to that. Way back we used one as a service vehicle in the rallying days.

Ok just another headline but hopefully it leads to something good.
According to a friend who claims access to Information not available to the hoi polloi (he probably drinks in more pubs than most) there is some amazing research being done on the Q.T. to power military drones.
The US military already have some amazing batteries as they have with solar panels its just the cost is way higher. The US company were allowed to develop batteries outside of the military but then it went quiet again so may just have been another of the make America great again headlines.
Presumably you can use Apple Carplay with it though? Or is it the whole control system you don’t like?
Glad to hear you like the R5 overall though, that’s encouraging.
I don’t have so much of a problem with the Google thing, but what really annoys me is the silly Reno help thing that keeps popping up, especially when you’re chatting away. If I tell it to fuck off, it says it cant help with sensitive matters🤣.

Can’t you disable the voice-active stuff? I hate having devices listening to me, I’ve never used Siri or Alexa or Doris or whatever they are called. 
Me neither, but it does amuse me sitting in my friends’ kitchen when one of them suddenly shouts ‘shut up Alexa’.
And she does.
