Ever been banned from or thrown out of anywhere?

On the back of being upset about my membership to Going Back being taken away, I thought perhaps there could be an amusing event in your past which has lead to you being excluded from an activity or club etc. or even sent home or even expelled from school which you might like to tell us about.

I was arrested, declared persona non grata and thrown out of Libya about 10 years ago.

Got banned from the 'Henry Jenkins' pub in Kirkby Malzeard a few years ago! 14 of us went for a meal (booked) arrived, was told there's no room for us in the bar so they'd set a table in the restaurant - we were the only occupants. The food was dire, very expensive and a onemanband started playing right next to our table so we couldn't hear ourselves think! Then the owner added a £5 per head cover charge for the pleasure of being served in the restaurant rather than the bar and for the 'entertainment'! We all refused to pay it and got banned!

It is normal in southern India to board a bus and pay to the conductor. My wife and I were in our 70's when we boarded the bus in the station, the conductor arrived in due course and I offered the fare. He asked for a ticket and when we were unable to produce one he threw us off the bus. As I left I told him I had been thrown off better bus's than this. I might add that this particular bus had 27 people standing in the aisle and 14 people IN THE CAB with the driver

What a lot of reprobates SFN people are ;-)

Hope you were forgiven for laughing!

Asked to leave Brownies when I was eight, having been called the pack hobgoblin for many weeks in view of my poor conduct.

Suspended from public school in 1960 for running away and later expelled in 1963 – I went drinking with an on site builder.

Removed from court in 1972 for refusing to answer either yes or no to questions which couldn’t have either answer without qualification.

Banned from the fish and chip shop in Gorran Haven in the late 90s because my son had been rude to the owner.

Since then my behaviour has been exemplary and I am allowed everywhere ...

Got arrested, jailed and deported from Angola in May (pissed off too many people who wanted to steal money in large quantities). Amusing part (!!) was I paid a bribe to be upgraded to a separate room in the jail and could not work out how to turn off the air con (toilet and water didn't work btw) so biggest problem was freezing to death - I recommend SAMSUNG air cons as long as you have access to the remote - which I didn't. I suppose if your biggest problem in a jail in Africa is that you are too cold, you are probably doing OK relatively

Yes actually we have been banned three times,. Firstly we were served a steak was inedible and as tough as old boots. Chef didn't like that and told us not to return. Secondly my husband and I were in a pub that sells english beer and when he commented (not complained) how expensive it was, was told not to come again and thirdly, which was recently, waited an hour to be served and then one of the light snacks when turned over was completely black and charred. No apology and told not to bother to return and that was a local bar whom we have frequented often. Have to say never experienced this in Aus where we have lived for more than 50 years. In fact, if anything was wrong they couldn't do enough for you to make it right.

I was around fourteen. My friend Annette and I were dinner monitors at school. One particular day we had a girl called Lorna on our table whom we disliked. The feeling was mutual. She said something sarcastic. I was in charge of serving up the spotted dick and Annette the custard. Annette filled her bowl with custard and | threw in a large lump of spotted dick with as much force as I could muster. Dear Lorna was covered in custard and not happy! We were unaware that a teacher was standing behind us. Needless to say punishment was due. Two weeks banned from lunch with the girls. We had to eat with the boys. It was hell. Strange that they thought eating with the opposite sex was punishment?

Well i have led a very sheltered life, thrown out of the school choir when i was about 8 and told i would never be any good at music, 3 years later age 11 joined a brass band and left 51 years later due to moving to France , thrown out of the Victoria pub along with a group of friends for singing Irish rebel songs when i was 19. The crowning glory was being asked to play on my own side of the road by a miserable neighbour when i was in my 30s while playing football with my kids and their friends which including her son

Hahahaha. Borġ Olivier's corrupt government must have been soooo paranoid in those days. Half of them had arrest warrants open all over Europe for shady dealings. You were obviously the one to get them! So they nabbed you. The name is Norman, Norman Clark 006.5!

"play" with bunsen burners. Sounds the same as inviting someone to "play" with a blowtorch or flamethrower :-)

I was arrested and deported from Malta in February 1969 for being a 'Spy'. 48 hours to leave the island and conducted to the boat to Australia.

Ditto re Bahrain - although not for the same reason.

I will ask Catharine if she would like to recount this story as her memory is far superior to mine!

Glasgow student union level eight, Dundee Institute of Technology Student union and Dundee University student union, the Royal Maritime Club Portsmouth and thrown out of the Hartlepool inshore lifeboat - not the RNLI, but the boat itself on an October night training exercise.

I haven't got all afternoon and modesty dictates. Any of my friends or others who publish any of the details here or elsewhere will be hearing from my learned friends Sue, Grabbit and Run.

We were banned from Gamm Vert in Nerac for complaining, they called the police too and assaulted Catharine in front of them!

Thank you. I was quite pleased with myself I have to say.
