Facing up to paperwork

Had a birthday yesterday and made a promise to myself, after living here in France for 23 years it is time to get our paperwork sorted out once and for all. We have masses of it and mostly it has been ignored but I am now determined to get it sorted and straight in my head and oh, how I don’t want to do it. We have an SCI and the book we are supposed to fill in lies unblemished! I like our notaire very much but his englishnis not so good and likewise my French so need to find an an English speaking notaire who can explain SIMPLY what has to be done, This has to be done diplomatically as I don’t want to offend our notaire. I know we should have had meetings and written things down but what!!!

We also need to find an English speaking accountant who will take us on and sort out everything for us.

Does anyone know of a notaire and an account, English speaking who works in department 46. If someone can tell us you will score zillions of brownie points, Even typing this email is hard as I know what obstacles are coming…time for a large gin and tonic as I need to switch my brain off!!!,

Before I finish I am proud to say that ticked off my list of doing things properly…fosse septique emptied and chimneys swept…now I know someone is going to ask…have you done…!!!

Hi

We have used Cabinet Henderson Mazeau as accountants for years. Mr Henderson was originally based in the Dordogne they are now just south of Bordeaux and very easy to get to in 33140 VILLENAVE D'ORNON (though we did go round in circles a bit passing within metres of it a few times. If you look at their map it is the building on the right off Av Roger Lapebie with "Compagnie Fidiculaire" hanging almost over it. Just ring them up and speak English.

Thank you Anne, will follow that one up.

Hi

As far as English speaking accountants. Try the site www.AmericansinFrance.net. I saw that they mentioned at least one. The chances that this person is in your area are slim, but maybe there is a way to get the materials to them. I own a business and my accountant is 1 hour away.... A notaire may be harder, but maybe the embassy has a list- American, Canadian or British.
