Feeding the Trolls

I've been reading recently about feeding Trolls and thought I'd share this response to 'the Troll' that is named by Mr Kellet as fashion/life writer Liz Jones who was whinging because the NHS wouldn't give her travel vaccins as an Emergency.

Trolls

Having not read the original article I did find Mr Kellet's response amusing & that is something I enjoy about SFN. Some of the posts are intended to create discussion & end up being heated (amusing for us who choose not to participate but prefer to read - being glad we didn't chip in on some occasions).

But what makes someone a troll? Mr Kellet says 'Trolls being the people who write something in order to start an argument' surely this isn't the definition of a troll? An argument could easily be re-labelled as a Discussion...
So does that mean that any of us who start a Discussion are trolls? I think Not!

There must be something which classifys someone as a troll but what is it?

* Having a difference of opinion? (I don't think so!)
* Being rude/insultive to someone? (Yes - in my opinion)
* Living under a bridge & having a taste for Goats (of course)

What do other SFN Members think constitutes being a Troll?

Now for that famous conundrum, Friar...

The very same, team mate of Mr Littlejohn

Isn't he the one who Made Marion ?

Nottingham Forest, isn't that who that bloke Hood plays for?

Home town Peter

"I support Nottingham Forest by the way."

Oh dear, have you considered counselling ?

Jane,

I completely take your point. Nothing to do with the original post. I think mine and Peters comments would probably have been kept to private chat.

What is the point of putting foreword this discussion as "Worth to read" ?

It was written 3 years ago so the original article about Mr. Kellet isn't relevant at all any more. I thought it had something to do about that sad per on who was found dead who had hackled the McCanns.

& yesterdays contributions seemed more about which football team they support.

I can't understand why sometimes these old discussions are dragged back to life though it did seem to have some sort of re-animation 6 months ago.

I support Nottingham Forest by the way.

Yes, not to be confused with Hartlepool sur Mer which is a real dump.

You mean Hartlepool, the Monte Carlo of the northeast coast ?

....and you didn't have to tell the whole interweb that I'm from Hartlepool mate

Sorry Peter - you must just look like a Leeds supporter

;-)

I might consider peeking in Spurs just to see if Baron Giddens of Southgate, or Tony when he was my 'boss', who claims to be the greatest living Spurs fan can be found lurking about in there. Don't know how I would do it, but I would have to lob him one for his 'Third Way' idea that another Tony grabbed, for which he got his Lordship I suppose. Look where it has taken people now!

True enough, I recall seeing some great Chelsea sides of the 60s & 70s, Osgood was a top striker. I also saw him at the end of his career at Norwich and he was still brilliant ! The greatest sporting day for me has to be Spurs beating Chelsea in the 1967 FA Cup final on my birthday ! Awesome ...

I would be considered a troll if I trespassed on a Chelsea forum and quite right too !

Peter, Tommy Docherty was the grrrrreatest and as for Peter 'the Cat' Bonnetti in goal. No words can praise such giants! Those were the days. José Mourinho has proved how Chelsea is, he could not stay away. Look who is on form this season...

Sneaking admiration for Swansea too. The five years we lived there people laughed and said no chance. They are proving all those trolls wrong too.

Wash your mouth out Nico !

Spurs & Norwich City for me

See your beloved Hartlepool are bottom of the league !!!

Yes Brian and what about Chelsea in the pre Abramovich years ? It's easy when you have the dosh mind, it helps when you have a good manager too...

Peter, you are stark raving mad! Spurs! Chelsea are from a superior planet ;-)

I thought you were Leeds United?

Brian, how can anyone NOT like Hansel & Gretel ? The Evening Prayer ("When at night I go to sleep") is sublime !

I always though 'trolling' was when someone 'invaded' an oppostion site and made comments ie. i'm a Spurs fan so it's like me going on the Arsenal forums and making comments not too favourable to Arsenal . I would be labelled 'a troll'

Everytime I drive my car, is mine... one day it's going to sting.
