Most of our deposits come in January-April - but we ask for full payment 8 weeks before the holiday start date, so most of our gites income is in the first 6 or 7 months of the year - after that it’s dribs and drabs.
In a former life I ran a bookshop - we generally made a loss every single month of the year until December - when of course we made a huge profit.
Maybe you are going to get REALLY good Christmas presents ! Or she’s saving for a foreign holiday
