My Daughter Maddie is a follower, she has her Flcker page with 5000 friends, she talks to them on Skype, everythingvis Doctor who and the beatles.
I still remember the first ever episode with William Hartnell (honest!!) said "Wow" and have followed since, more or less, plus spin offs to some extent. I never once hid behind the sofa though. My daughters are devotees which was THE biggest motivation for having sat that also gets UK TV (also honest!!) and even my OH does not miss and episode and when she does is more likely to search for repeats than I.
