Fosse Septique. What is the name (in french)

…of the most appropriate artisan for repairs and updates on these?

Or I am thinking too much and it is simply a general builder? Or plumber?

Thanks!

Graeme

I used a builder initially for the installation, and then used a plumber to add couple of manholes to comply with current standards.

You need a terrassier Graeme. I’ve just replaced my fosse and been through all the etude de sol, autorisation, travaux and certification stages. As with most things, if one follows the process things can go smoothly, deviation from same can result in heartache.

A good installer will have a reputation with SAUR and that can make a considerable difference towards getting it through any inspections which might be required.
I would suggest a call into your local mairie; they will have a list of suitable candidates for undertaking any work you are proposing and it may need to be signed off by them on conclusion anyway.
That was the case with our new build and SAUR were clearly happy with the installation stage inspections. No dramas - signed off without any fuss or changes required.
