France - Cost of Living Expensive?

We are half way between Vannes and Redon, lots of ‘bricos’ no doubt, competition helps

The other thing about my brico ‘experience’ this week wasn’t related to cost - more to (dare I mention it!) service.

I needed some plywood cut to order part of which involved 3 lengths of 1m50. The ‘assistant’ serving me had to use his calculator to work out the overall length generated by 3 x 1m50. I was a bit stunned to be honest - as I was by the fact he didn’t have a tape measure on him - bearing in mind his ‘job’. Call me old-fashioned…

The last time I had some wood cut in a Brico it was cut on a state of the art, computer operated machine. No need for calculators or tape measures.

Yep same here - he was writing out the price ticket. Nothing to do with the cutting of the wood (computer controlled) - the guy didn’t have a tape so didn’t know how big the offcuts were and therefore which ones he could use.
