…and for anyone who thinks they can escape “the net” - Remember that an uninsured-driver who causes an accident, will be pursued for financial retribution, down through the generations.

Probably not, it looks like just hooks into the insurance databases - I think the police in the UK have had this for a while. But if on UK plates it’s probably going to be impossible for the French police to check for UK insurance.
