France spends most on Social Security

Installed a bath etc upstairs, shower etc downstairs, doubt if the bath has been used more than six times and never by me.
Much prefer the shower :slightly_smiling_face:

Ah but you have the choice Bill. Seriously considered a tin bath at one point or a paddling pool!!!

I remember the tin bath on the Rag Mat, in front of the ‘Scafell Iron Range’ in the cellar kitchen at Grans, filled from a kettle, only one cold tap in the house, everyone had a bath in the Spring, wether they needed it or not, hard to appreciate how lucky we are now

I’m a bit younger than you Bill so have only ever known a proper bathroom and indoor toilet. Although, the house I lived in for the first few years of my life didn’t actually have a bathroom when my parents bought it just 3 years before I was born. They built one at the back of the house which was a tiny 2 up 2 down Victorian terrace in East London. I remember neighbours and friends still having outside loos though.
