French Better Business Bureau? A newspaper consumer advocate columnist? Realtors' ethics board?

I have realtors who managed my rental poorly and let tenants get away with painting my beautiful pine walls. They have a poor quality painter they want to fix it and I am insisting that a painter I trust should do it. There is a 3000 euro difference in estimates and the realtors deposited what their painter’s estimate is and say they will not give me a penny more.

I do not want to hire lawyers for this but I would like to address the issue.

Thanks

Diana

Dear Diana,

I suggest that in the first place you check your agreement with your property manager to determine the extent of their liability as regards to damage caused by tenants.
It would also be important to determine if your paint disaster can be construed as damage.
Once you have made that assessment, you will have a clearer understanding of your position.

If you do not wish to play the legal card, I am afraid that you may have to negotiate; either by accepting their offer or pay the difference in quotes.

I hope this helps and let us know how you get on.

Best wishes,
