I adore babies, hence being a midwife, kids I’m not so keen on!
Like you Tory, I adore babies. Then after they’re about 2 years old I lose interest until they’re about 35-40.

I’m not keen on babies, I much prefer them when they get to 4+, the naughty years are fun, especially for Grandma’s

Ah, that’s a pyracantha (firethorn) love, evergreen with those long arching sprays - very lovely and no wonder the birds love it! Now the berries are dying off you’re fine to prune, but go easy on it
Going back to what to sow now, the gardener man on TF1 mentioned winter radishes. He talked about a variety that’s green on the outside and pink in the middle and I think he might mean this, Red Meat. It would make a change from black radish.

Well a little update. I was utterly shocked that I checked the sweet potato slips and in just 24 hours we have roots!! I think these babies are just raring to get into the ground and get going! I’m sure we’ll manage some sort of crop!

How deep would you go?
What did you lecture in?
About 6cm make sure you leave the leaves above the soil, about 30cm between slips, keep them moist to establish the roots. You can grow them across the ground or up a trellis if you’re short on space. They take about 3 months until ready. It probably won’t be warm enough to leave them out to ‘cure’ but keep the somewhere warm for a week after picking if you can. Then you can store them.
My specialist subject was the Impact of Society on Health . But I also taught Psychology as a secondary subject along with Statistics.

Can anyone give advice on harvesting seeds from lettuce. I have had some great lettuce from seeds supplied by @Wozza and would like to keep them going.
We used to make it years ago. Thankyou for reminding me Vero! I had a big heavy jar that was perfect for mixing everything together. I’m pretty sure we still have a bottle of it somewhere.
