Have recently moved to Northern France and now getting well established. Retired, so thinking about another Dane. Have had two in the past, both dogs from puppies, black and a brindle, so well aware of habits, needs and good training. Both break your heart when passed away.
Would like to adopt a Dane but unsure of who, when , where, can anyone help?

Seconded for the SPA, it’s where we got current dog from. You can search on specific breeds, and set an alert.
There is also 30 million amis, and I think @George1 may have adopted from them.

And in wider France places that focus on Great Danes only
But avoid individuals trying to sell dogs, 99% are evil
I only know 1 Dane specialist, she is in the N. Dordogne so if that isn’t too far for you come back on here, no need for a PM and I will give you her details.
But it pains me to do so because after many years working with her after recommending her to the association I was working with she let me down very badly and I will have no more personally to do with her. But I will give you a phone number if you want it.
But in view of where you are I would go along with the others in advising the SPAs.

Thank you for your help and have contacted the associations. I note your remark about individuals and agree you have to be cautious, with my last Danes I visited the kennels, saw the conditions and breeders.
