You prompted me to search for when the USAAF base in Greenland changed its name to the ‘Pittufik Space Base’ as it was formerly the classical derived ‘Thule Air Base’ (from Ultima Thule after Pytheas of Massalia/Marseille who was also possibly the first visitor to the British Isles from the classical world).

Apparently, the name change only occurred two years ago and it’s interesting to read this pre-Trumpian account of .how the US appeared to view Greenland at that time:-
