Shhh… that’s my secret weapon!!
Seriously though, it does work. Turn the other cheek and kill 'em with kindness.
I shared a flat in West Hampstead in 1976 during a brief period of illusory financial liquidity (i.e. I wasn’t broke) and there was a 246 left rotting outside a neighbours house. Tragedy.
I should add that IMO their bullet proof M10 engines in the 20 series are what dragged BMW from being a purveyor of rubbish cars to their, IMO somewhat exaggerated, claim today of being THE ultimate driving machine . Mind you, I’ve never owned one (risk of social exclusion prevented it ) but my wife has one. If I was to ever succumb it would be a 2002 tii or a i4.
My first car was a 2002. It was b***dy expensive to maintain.
Nice car though, earlier BMWs were rust buckets and I suppose the 2002 didn’t escape that legacy. But the motor was as tough as nails. I suspect it saved the company.
