I am sat here reflecting on the fact that life can turn into a nightmare in a matter of moments ... I have just received a bill from CIPAV for 3535 euros for 2005 t0 2007 after 6 years I stopped being Independent in 2006 and informed them I had stroke in august 2007 and then started to receive CAF and RSA Have to write to them I guess also think I need to see advocat. Same time I am retired as of the 10 july have operation due in august to remove faulty system inside me and new on put in a few months later ..have to find out if submitting my S1 form cancels the 100% CMU I have and need for the operation ..All seems a bit much but guess as days pass the pressure will ease lol
Good.
Good luck. I have seen here on another post how helpful she was.
John Hello,
CIPAV is a shambles as an outfit, my own experience would bear testimony to this. CIPAV can only backtrack you three years, and that is only if, and in your case there is no if, you owe them any money.
Good Luck.
I can't help, but send best wishes to you all.

Hello Doreen
Just seen your post; am amazed as when my mother and I moved to France, they stopped her Attendance Allowance from the date she stepped onto French Soil!!! Will have to approach them again as if they are issuing Attendance Allowance to ex pats, she needs (at 86 and in failing health) and is entitled to it.
Agreed that the UK is just turning it's back on British people in favour for the floods of people who see the UK as a cushy life and turn up to be re-housed and given every benefit imaginable. Sorry if that sounds racist, but disgusted by the actions of a Country that was once so proud becoming a cess pit where the "rights" of the offender and not the victim are given priority, and agree, the government just want us to dissapear - Due to losing our business (here) and all our money, we exist on my mother's pension and my small part time job as carer for her. I would really welcome some emotional support if there is any out there -

Hi Doreen, my French isn't that good that I can read thro' this easily. Do I take it that when you reach retirement age you enter your change in circumstance on the web-site ? and then the system knows and can adapt your details for CPAM etc ?
Hi John,
Sorry to hear that you have health issues and best wishes for speedy recovery.
Perhaps because you are approaching retirement, your file has landed on some bureaucrats desk. There is a limit to the amounts of years CIPAV can backtrack to make claims but you'll need to verify the details. I usually address all my social payment problems to my accountant rather than a lawyer, so that would be my suggestion if you need assistance.
Good luck and best wishes on all fronts ....
