Surely , Gatland has made a big mistake in dropping BOD and Heaslip , should this be renamed the Wales v Aussie match????
He may well be bitter about being dumped as Irish coach, Celeste, but he was crap and still is crap!
The general take today, after everyone recovered from the shock of the O'Driscoll and Heaslip omissions, is that he has panicked (again), made wholesale changes and has not looked at how bad Davies was last week playing with BOD in the centre. Indeed, if he thought Alun-Wyn Jones was any good as a captain, why hasn't he picked him before the Lions tour?
Gatland is an idiotic moron - just hope he is vindicated next Saturday.
Thank you Vic. I will gracefully incline my head (virtually speaking) and accept your virtual hat doffing! In any case, Gatland will either be vindicated or eviscerated on Saturday. I do hope the Lions win but I cannot see how with the centre combination, and the undoubted lack of leadership experience on the field, both of which O'Driscoll could have offered.
I will have an eclectic mix in my house on Saturday morning comprising (so far) moi and my husband (Irish), friends Joseph and Chris (English) and Diane and Simon (Australian) - we are, I believe, the only ones in the village with a Sky box. :-)
I was about to comment that you girls know more about Rugby than this bloke but then I thought about it & realised that I know naff all about any sport really. Never- the-less ,fair play & respect to you both.
If I had a hat I would doff it!!

Not to lose our sense of humour, have a quick look at this:
I think the big point here, Celeste, is that regardless of the nationality of O'Driscoll or Heaslip, Gatland will stand or fall on next Saturday's Game. Brllliant comment by our friend Phil Espley on my FB page earlier. I had written:
"Jaysus - it gets worse. Although it was widely predicted by many Northern Hem pundits that O'Driscoll was sure to be captain, Gatland has instead gone for Alun-Wyn Jones, who has captained Wales only once, and said: "Hopefully I’ve been selected for the way I play and not the way I lead". Doh!"
and one of the many comments (including your own) was Phil's reply:
"He's a ruthless Kiwi playing "Rugby League" in the name of the Lions Rugby Union team. Think how the Scots must be feeling, as throughout the tour they have been treated like lepers, despite finishing well above Ireland in the Six Nations Championship, as did England. Gatland doesn't understand "the glorious game"; the ethos of the Lions style of play has passed him by!! Despite playing and LOVING rugby for 41 years until hanging up my boots at 52, I realise that IS just a game, and hopefully the Lions will win on Saturday, the down side of that, Gatland will look like a good coach........he isn't!!"
