Heads-up re Fedex

I bought a camera lens from Japan in March this year. It was sent via Fedex. Only 4 days later I had an email from Fedex asking for €28,00 before they would deliver.

I paid it and received an emailed receipt.

But then on Saturday last I received a letter from Fedex France demanding €28,00 from an ‘outstanding invoice’. The usual consequences if I didn’t cough up pronto.

I sent off, by email, proof that I had paid.

This is their reply (today):

Nous faisons suite à votre demande et vous confirmons que nous avons bien réceptionné votre paiement pourla facture / les factures réf. 116…
Si entre temps vous avez reçu une relance, nous vous remercions de ne pas en tenir compte.
Nous restons à votre disposition pour toute information complémentaire.

Makes you wonder how many of these duplicated demands do get paid?

I’ve had similar experience with FedEx with a shipment from China. Paid German FedEx then got a demand from French FedEx for the same amount. On the blower sharpish to complain, problem solved.
