Not really a discussion, just wanted to thank and answer Vic without reviving a conspiracy thread.
the bone in question is an elephant leg 150 years old that had a few problems, or really a very large chicken.
all the best

Where are you? I hope you are very far away as I AM ON A B.....y diet actually.....it does not sound that I could not eat it.....Anyway hope you have fun. My husband promised me scallops with chili and basmati rice for tomorrow and his chili sauce is heavenly.
Wabbit, Bambi & Valiant + onions, carrot & mushrooms snuggled in a red wine & chook stock gravy resting between a short crust pastry top & bottom! ( how's that for pretentiousness?) I've made two which are now in the freezer as tonight I'm doing mussel spaghetti. One of these days I'm gonna make somebody a wonderfull husband. Just hope my missus realises it:-)
Just remembered I also made some extremely cheesy straws with the left over pastry & woofed 'em down with a rather fine malt. Eat yer hearts out all ye who would diet:-)
Game pie! So* the diet, I'll be right over...
Done. Sorry I didn't see it earlier but I was engrossed in cooking a game pie!!
I sent you a private message but we have to be 'friends' and there was not enough room for the elephant story. Be my friend?
Interesting. The reason I asked is because my Brother in law & his wife are both palaeontologist/bone specialists. I think that's the term but not sure. BIL is a professor & SIL runs a business sifting earth samples for archaeological things! Interesting stuff. Is that your profession?
