I really hope D-Day went well @cat and that you are now safely at home with us
Hoping your move went well, Cat, and you’re now safely and comfortably installed.
Well we arrived safe and sound after a 12 hour drive due to a tyre blowout on the trailer….the horses were amazingly good and even stood patiently for 90 minutes whilst a lovely breakdown guy fixed the tyre.
The whole experience was super stressful and I am never, ever, ever again going to tow long distance !
We had to unload at 11 pm in the dark into a field I’d never seen before….
But we survived and I am taking this week ‘off’ other than unpacking and sorting. And doing a lot of eating and sleeping.
I can’t thank the people who helped move me enough. I’ve been surrounded by love and kindness and that counts for a lot.
Xx
Good to hear that you arrived safely, enjoy the downtime for a few days and even the weather looks reasonably good for the next week.
Sounds like you have good horses there.
Reminds me of the famous remark (quoted by David Niven in his autobiography) by Hungarian film director Michael Curtiz on the set of the 1936 film “Charge of the Light Brigade”:
“Bring on the empty horses!!”
(meaning riderless horses that he wanted in the background of the famous cavalry charge)
