Here we go again

Reunification was probably a mistake, there are, and alway have been, two distinct German states. The East is now reasserting itself. All those D Marks wasted on them

Excuse me, but aren’t most of us (oh yes, excluding the Celts) Saxons in origin, we should be happy at the (latest) reunification.

Not really a surprise though - if they don’t get an absolute majority, then what? Stalemate again?

Well it wasn’t really a reunification, they were never really unified, even way back before the Wall. They are different people. One could argue the same is true of Northern and Southern Italy of course.

Not spending anymore on our house untill le Penn has been assinated

That seems a bit extreme, Corona, wouldn’t prison do?

Better safe than sorry :joy:

Not a surprise as both Germany and Italy were a collection of independent and often fractious states up until the end of the 19th century.

I don’t do martyr’s, 8.3 billion people on the planet, we don’t need them all.

Thank goodness you didn’t say assassinated, that could have been actionable.

Bismarck and Garibaldi have a lot to answer for. In Garibaldi’s case not least of all those squashed fly biscuits.

If you don’t like Garibaldi biscuits, never go near the old British Army ration pack version “Biscuits, Fruit”, made from the floor sweepings of Garibaldi biscuits production line at McVities and old cardboard boxes.
