Does anyone know the law concerning a home made trailer, does a spec plate have to be shown
Thanks Melissa seems its the same as uk under 500kg no problem but have been advised to fit a spec plate so there isnt any confusion if anyone borrows it, they are bound to overload and then i'm covered as weight is clearly stated its their problem not mine
All trailers over a certain weight 750Kg have to be immatriculated with a lot of paperwork involved. We managed to get a UK manufactured one immatriculated which was not a recognised make but it was not at all easy as you need details from axle and brake manufacturers etc and all the correct numbers. Below that weight I think anything goes and no spec plate shown. Have a look at trailers for sale and ask the salesman.
