I tried this morning but couldn’t win.
The comments on the app do not paint a good picture.
I’ve lived here for 20ans and have had a Carte Vitale for the last 16 years. No probs, but I thought it would be good to have it on my phone as well.
There was a thread the other day, unless it was part of a thread. Someone posted an article in The Connexion where they say people couldn’t get it to work. IIRC someone here tried and gave up.
I registered my husband using the CV app on his new iPhone Air. No problem. Verified it’s working at the pharmacy today. Meanwhile, we’re filling in the form sent to replace the racked plastic card. Never hurts to have more ID
I’d argue that it actually works better - open wallet, give card to doctor/receptionist/pharmacist receive it back, put it in wallet. Whereas open phone case, open phone, scroll through apps, find CV, open app, press phone against card reader or whatever. And then reverse the process…
And of course, no faff trying to download the CV app.
Yes, no bother, I set it up for the fun of it some time ago. I actually only used it for the first time this week. I was in the pharmacy and I’d left my CV in the car. There was a bit of confusion in the pharmacy, so it’s obviously not being used too much yet, but they scanned my QR code and… bingo it worked like a dream It’s good.
More and more it’s becoming a case of what’s physically in the wallet is duplicated on the phone. I’m OK with that, I’d like to dump my wallet and have everything on the phone. You can’t backup a wallet
Now Ryanair doesn’t even accept paper boarding passes.
Despite all my reservations above about the usefulness of the CV app, I finally installed it on my phone. Just had a new message from the app, telling me that the app is out of date and that I needed to download the new version. So tried that, but was told it’s incompatible with my phone.
