Hub too far away!

Agree, as I said I have used them and have 3 installed at home in the UK.

They are a godsend when you can’t run Ethernet

But if you can  run Ethernet, then run Ethernet - but maybe not structured cabling to every room in the house

I think they are a waste of time personally. Say you place one where you have a 20% signal from you base station, the repeater just gives a greater range to that 20% (or less) signal, if you daisy chain and have another repeater picking up 20% of the first repeater’s signal then it’s broadcasting 4% of the base station’s signal.

Frankly I’m not sure. I should have mentioned that in the bundled cable there were two co-ax as well. When I rebuilt the house here I didn’t bother putting in such a sophisticated system and data is fine but I messed up not putting more co-ax.

BTW, what’s running through the mains is ethernet. The medium doesn’t matter.

It certainly was at the time.

Hi,
I suggest going for a wifi mesh e.g. NETGEAR Système WiFi Mesh Orbi (RBK13), AC1200.
This will enable you to have wifi throughout the house. I have it in my home, and I was surprised how far the wifi signal travelled e.g. to swimming pool . Distance from orginal router to TV about 20 m.
