S1's are to be WITHDRAWN for early retirees from 01/07/2014. This means you only have 14 more days to get one or you will have lost the opportunity and won't be able to access healthcare via this route until retirement age!

Do you know that you need a new EHIC once you have a Carte Vitale?
You need this to access UK medical services if you need them on a trip back to the UK. Don’t ever let them register you at a GP or A & E or you will nullify your CV and have to start all over again. Not a pleasant prospect.
It should be noted that this is for new applications. All those issued will be honoured for their full term.
