Having re registered a right hand drive car in France I now intend to take it back to the UK and re register it there (and then later on sell it in the UK). I have tried to get from HMRC if there will be a VAT charge and they have not supplied a definitive answer (they decide after you have done it!). Has any body else done this and if so were you required to pay any VAT? The car is a bog standard Subaru built for the UK market. Any help appreciated.
