Inheriting from British relatives

My dad, who is a uk resident, is going to leave me his UK house in his will. Whilst I hope this is going to happen way into the future, I’d like to have an idea of the inheritance tax implications for me here in France when he does pass it on. There will be no inheritance tax to pay in the UK as it will be below the current threshold.

No IHT to pay here either.

But you will need to add the value of it to the values of any other properties you own in France and abroad.

The FISC expects real annual property values to be declared when the total value is over 800,000€ for l’Impôt sur la Fortune Immobilière (IFI) . They are now beginning to make a greater push to ensure this happens, given the property value inflation in some of France as well as elsewhere is meaning more are becoming liable.

I thought the value was a lot higher than that -
