We’re French resident as of this year, but still keep a small car in England to use when we visit. Saga says it can no longer insure the car because we’re not UK resident, Does anyone know of an insurer that will help?

As car hire is cheap is it worth selling the car and using the money to fund a hire car whenever needed?
You would no longer need to worry about car tax, maintenance, insurance, tyres etc.
