Neither of us can download the Intermarche app to our phones (the app isn’t visible in the app store and it’s not possible to sign in to an account on a phone using a browser) although we have been able to create an account.
Any idea if they block phones using non-French SIM cards or if there’s some other reason? Our French doesn’t seem good enough to have found a reason on their website yet.
Ummm…I live here full time and like many French techie things…they don’t work most of the time and the Intermarché cart de fidélité, and their web site is …what it is.
Thanks folks, it’s more a case of getting access to discounted foods etc just to contain the cost of living here for a while. I think we may have to be brave and try our best Franglais to see if we can get a physical card linked to the account.
What’s the phone? If it’s an iPhone, you’re probably stuffed.
If it’s Android, you’ll need to create a second account with France as your location. You can be logged into two accounts at once so you can download UK apps on one account and French apps on the other.
It’s simple. You need to have an account using a French credit/debit card to download from the French Appstore. Updates are less restrictive, though not always.
Thanks, might have to try that. One phone is an Honor, the other Poco. May see if Leclerc is any easier, although a physical plastic card would be even better..
Intermarche was announced to have been hacked in the past 2 weeka or so and some personsl customer dsta was taken. So it may be some work being done on their systems if it’s not geolocation blocking you - In which case do as John says. It works.
Intermsrché stores usually have plastic cards inside folded pamphlrts at the till or Customer Services nesr the cash desk will have one. So you can use it there and then to capture your shop then go home snd fill out details.
That last bit might be in sn app thesecdays though
I had a glitch where the Lidl app kept closing, most likely my fault as it was a new phone. The lady at the till asked for my phone number and was able to credit the account, sadly she wasnt after a date with me, that ship sailed a long time ago still a handy feature of the Lidl store.
It’s always been possible to use the phone number registered to the Lidl app instead of the phone. You need to select any offers or credit on the phone before using the phone number. Credit points are not interchangeable between the French and UK systems.
The new Lidl points system has reduced the benefit considerably. Previous system £250 spend in a month would get £10 of next shop. Now it needs £1000 spend to get a £10 voucher. After using Lidl in the UK since it was introduced here and all over France and Germany for many years methinks it’s time to switch to Aldi. I have five Lidl and five Aldi within 10 miles of home.
Depends on the products available for me. Discounts are always handy but I feel for them trying to run a scheme when prices are rising everytime we shop.
