Interruption of Freesat signal

Has anyone who is using Freesat noticed there was a complete loss of channels for a couple of days? Getting out my signal meter I found that the signal level was fine but signal quality was almost completely gone for each frequency I tested! I was about to change my LNB this morning but to my surprise the problem disappeared, so everything is fine now! So far, I can’t find any reports of similar problems - therefore, maybe it was caused by atmospheric conditions?? Cloud cover is a little high but this has never been an issue in the past, except during a heavy storm.

Nothing like that happened to me, just north of Paris. I just got it set up about 2 weeks ago and I have been monitoring signal quality. For me it hangs around 80 percent, although I assume varies by receiver.

We are down South near Grasse and normally our Satellite reception is rock solid, even though we are in a fringe area. We have a large 1.8m dish and a high gain/ low loss LNB. Maybe it was just a glitch! Fortunately, we now have a Freely box connected via a VPN and long term this is what we will be using (but it’s nice to have Satellite just in case our VPN gets blocked).

No problems with me and Freesat either but I at first misread your title and thought it was Fransat. I do have a problem with that in that when I switch it on I get a message which says, in English, You Do Not Have The Right To Watch This Video.

Keep meaning to contact them because it was only a few months since I was told I had access to everything. Anyone else had trouble with French TV?

I have a 6 or 7 year old Telefunken TNTSAT ..and it’s card ran out about 18 months ago … .I got a fresh card this summer while in France and it is working fine … No problem getting it working in Ireland ..it’s all OTA software updates ..(if ever )and not on any network.

I took an impulse purchase of the new FRANSAT USB dongle thing .. basically the dongle plugs into the USB port in a modern TV and the SIM chip slips into the dongle … However none of my TVs is recent enough that the USB recognises this as a decoder.
