Introducing myself

Hi,

I am Sara Bowles and I currently live with my Husband Craig and two youngest children Alex 9 and Amy 1, in the Herault department 34 of the Languedoc region of France (down on the Mediterranean).

We run a Catering business and a Property Management business, but really want to give this all up and run a smallholding. But to do this we first need to sell our house, which we purchased as a B&B 4 years ago. We will also have to move away from this amazingly beautiful area and go west, as it is just too dry and hot here for they type of farming we want to do - we could grow grapes, cherries, nectarines, apricots, peaches, figs, almonds or even chestnuts here without a problem, but root crops, and grass are a bit more difficult! Not to mention the price of land and property here being far more expensive than in many other parts of France.

If anyone else runs a small holding here we would love to hear about your experiences and any advice you have to offer.

Thanks look forward to talking with you soon
