Is Musk the most dangerous man on the planet?

As the article in the Guardian today says, what Trump, Musk etc crave is attention dont’t give it to them!

Sociopaths, narcissists, it would be why Musk bought X.

I agree, but given the reality that these people are now to run the world, I think it would be naive to leave it at that. These are not normal times. It is important to be informed.

Yes, comes from the U.K. prison abbreviation for Not On Normal Communal Exercise if memory serves. Basically, sex offenders and anyone else likely to get attacked by other inmates had separate exercise periods.

That’s likely a bacronym, the etymology of the modern slang use of the word nonce is not totally clear.

There’s a second meaning in cryptography meaning a one time temporary key which is from a medieval root.

Yes, I’ve dealt with nonces before.

Mucho dissent in the campo  Should be interesting to watch

A lot of Republicans seem unhappy with the sudden upsurge of Musk and maybe it’ll all be fun to watch.

On a more serious note, this short, but interesting Fr24 programme highlights some of the some of the local complexities and contradictions surrounding the issue of free speech and censorship in a liberal democracy.

When you consider these mega wealthy influencers like Musk and Bezos and quite likely Gates, are developing Ai and can therefore control the narrative in answers like making out veganism is healthy they all become quite dangerous to the youths.

Any diet can be unhealthy if it’s not done properly.

Eating large amounts of red meat is unhealthy, both for the individual & for the climate. All meat production is an inefficient way of feeding an increasing population on a planet where, ironically, climate change is eroding previously productive farmland.

It’s odd that I know many healthy vegans, including myself. Vegans are not the uninformed pasty faced hippies that the meat lobby would want you to believe.

My stepson works, indirectly, for a major American AI developer. He has to research & fact check all manner of things so that AI gets ‘educated’ properly i.e. it’s quite hard to get AI to ‘believe’ something that is inaccurate, although it’s got a long way to go before I’d trust it 100%.

Absolutely, some on the opposite side of the diet fence have shown incorrect chatgpt and told them so. Responses such as “I did not know that” and “I will have to check my references” show wrong data out there and who ever pays the piper can call the tune.

PS some of my vegan/vegetarian friends seem to do quite well also but do not eat the ultra processsed junk vegan and vegetarian offerings from supermarkets. Of course there are others who fare better on a low carb more carnivor diet. We are not all the same.

It’s not so much preventing AI from “believing” a non-fact - just don’t include falsehoods in the training data (though if there is inaccurate info it will incorporate it into the model just as easily as any other data).

The problem is that large language models are very good at confabulating.

I do wonder how long Musk will last in Trump’s government. There is only enough space for one egomaniac.

I hope my compatriots in this video are a reflection of how unpopular Musk is back in the UK…
