Today I received an email that left me wonderig if nostalgia was not the province of the 'aged' of wMore Optionshich gorip I accept my positioning.
In fact it was a delightful trip down 'memory lane' that also produced a few tears as I realised just how long ago I was 'young'.
I suspect like many on this site, I can't find affinity with new 'popular' music. OK the cry of the ages and the aged, that I understand, but putting it simply I wonder where the nostalgia is in the current offerings. I think I am grateful that I am as deaf as I am (60%) as what I see and watch leaves me totally cold. I simply see no talent and a penchant for funny hats disguising a derisive 'personality" that simply does not exist.
I watched and wondered at the award given to a musical group, whose only claim to ability seemed to lie in their Darth Vader type masks and nothing else.
So it was with some interest I reacted to the following site sent to me by a friend ; http:/www.1959bhsmustangs.com/Video.Jukebox.htm
This is a collection of videos and tracks from the 40's, 50's and 60's accompanied by the kind statement that the 60's were my era. In fact my 'era' is earlier than that as I grew up to music of the 40's and awoke to music in the 50's. Happily this site applied to both, and I have spent some hours listening to, and even weeping to old memories and/or nostalgia.
I recommend a visit, but be prepared for a longish stay, as this really is a memory-churner
