Is this a thing?

I have an Error pop up telling me a Malwarebytes Browser Guard extension, which has added itself to the computer, may change the way Chrome works :scream:
My options are, Enable extension or remove from Chrome.
Any guidance would be appreciated, please.

Did you install Malwarebytes?

PS can you screendump the popup.

No reason to suggest it is itself malwareā€¦

Personally on my Linux system (Ubuntu) and my android phone, I use Ghostery

I did install Malwarebytes, I have no idea how to screendump. Cannot copy and paste
This is all what it says.
It can
.Read an change all your data on all websites
.Manage your downloads

then copy image and paste to SF

If you installed Malwarebytes then itā€™s really just asking for permission to embed and enable itself in Chrome.

Like Ghostery normal operation might interfere with some websites.

Hold the Alt key down which will make it do the current window, not the whole screen.

We have used malwarebytes for years. Always say no to browserguard.

reasons?

Worry that it does something odd to a system that works well. The degree to which malwarebytes wants us to have this option (To avoid it you have to positively choose no every time there is an update) makes me feel, rightly or wrongly, that its somehow to their advantage we use it.
In a similar way that Edge tries to be default browser every chance it gets.

@graham @billybutcher sorry I cannot post just the popup!

Donā€™t worry - itā€™s the bit of Malwarebytes which ā€œlivesā€ in the browser, itā€™s perfectly OK to enable it.
