JM Coetzee 'The Childhood of Jesus'

JM Coetzee's has a new book out The Childhood of Jesus. It is the most reviewed book this week with a resounding seven reviews in the UK literary pages. Feelings about the book have been mixed, with some reviewers perplexed as to the message Coetzee is sending out:-

"It is apt that the denouement of The Childhood of Jesus is a flight from inertia into the chaotic hinterlands behind Novilla," said the Independent on Sunday. "And that is where the reader is abandoned at the end of the book, still trying to determine whether Coetzee has written another great allegorical piece, or something too elusive to provide satisfaction."

Yes well, I guess we’ll all have to buy it find out.
