Joint account advice needed please

after advice received previously by sf members and our property purchase getting closer finally,we are about to open a french bank account in order to pay property bills etc,we are hoping to open a joint account with britline, as we are not married should we encounter any problems in our application as we are still resident in the uk also concerning the account name would colin et susan including surnames give us individual access to the account similar to a mr and mrs account

It’s preferable to use e.g Colin ou Susan rather than et otherwise if one of you dies, the other doesn’t have access to the account! No problem at all with not being married in my experience, but I haven’t used Britline.

hopefully it will be straightforward

The other half and I opened our britline account whilst still in the UK and at that time were not married. No issue and they used ‘ou’ as suggested above.

that sounds positive Peter
thanks

already been said but just to stress the use of “ou” rather than “et” just in case
