Juvenile scoliosis

hi all, id like to introduce myself first of all. ive been living in frnace for about 10 years and i love it here!

i have a four year old daughter who was diagnosed via xray on wednesday with a severe scoliosis. Its all a bit of a shock to the system and id like to make contact with anyone who has experience of this, or knows where i can find a support group for her and our family. We have an appointment with the specialist at the end of the month, so i'll know more about her condition and treatment then, but in the mean time, any comments, experience or pointing me in the right direction would be very greatful

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0002221/ seems to be helpful and has links. Good luck and I hope you find the answers you need.

There is a Scoliosis Association in the UK, web search for them and find out if they have a sister organisation here. One of my old school friends had a completely curved spine and had to leave his regular profession many years ago. He did something in a semi-voluntary capacity for them for years. Would ask him but he is no longer with us...

The Osteoporosis Society in UK is also interested in bone diseases and could perhaps help you, Have your googled to see if there is a Scoliosis society in UK?

It would be so much easier to understand in English.

I would hope that the centre where you have been referred will know if there is a support group for sufferers of this condition.

I can understand that this is devastating for you all and my best wishes are with you.
