I very much doubt I will buy a another new car, and I also doubt I will buy a fossil fuelled car next time - but in the meantime I’m going to have fun

Interestingly the one pictured could be Vegas Yellow, not Python Yellow - slightly hard to tell but the difference is three and a half grand.
If you want a new, yellow, A3, S3 or RS3 forking out Vegas yellow (one of the Audi “exclusive” colours at a whopping £4k extra) is the only way to do it.
Yes, bit of a rip-off. I think my R5 had a supplement of about a grand for "Pop Yellow ".
Python yellow was one of the standard metallic options at £595 but the exclusive colours are a bit weighty on the wallet.
Mind you I do like the Merlin Purple

Also would it be cheating to put the old German one back on the car - it’s the same “Euro” pollution class.

It would certainly stand out, but apparently it adds 1-3 months to the delivery schedule as well as £4k to the price so a bit too rich for me.

It used to be that people would get their own paint colours done. Cars were often two-tone when I was a kid. Colours can be replicated easily.
Maybe when it’s old and needs a refresh? Meanwhile you can look like a bumblebee. As Roger_Lapin and possibly another puster here… is it Mark?
Turmeric, mustard or whatever is very popular now.
I had a lime green one with black accents follow me home last night that I liked. Certainly better than my ‘primer grey and black’ that I had.
I had the iron engine - not as free revving as yours with the newer alloy engine. I never had a chance to compare the two.
Kyalami Green, it’s the stock colour for RS3’s at the moment. I prefer the yellows TBH. The green is said to be identical, or almost the same as Lamborghini’s Verdi Mantis.
