Le Franglish

You wood, of course. For me it goes against the grain - I’ll just leaf it there.

Now you’ve left me with a knotty problem? Is there a panel I can ask for help, or should I stay in the groove in the hope that the answer will become plane? I’d rather this finished smoothly than we cut up rough together and it become a saw point.

I think you nailed it, better than screwing up!

I think you’ve pegged it now.

Can’t remember if I mentioned it earlier - @Corona had mentioned dogs hate the smell of TCP, and when we had a problem with one leaving turds in the garden I sprinkled it across the entrance to our lawn area. That seems to have been the permanent fix. Could you create a TCP laced area outside the front of your land?

@David_Spardo or anyone, would you happen to know the French word for a dog’s choker chain ? I found chaîne or liaisse ras-du-cou on Deepl but wasn’t sure is this what the French really call this type of chain.

The other alternative Deepl proposed was chaîne étrangleuse. But I felt that proposing use of that type of chain to my neighbour for use on their dog might make me look too eager  . Since étrangleuse seems to translate directly to strangling it.

So correct wording the French use for a choker chain for a dog, please, anyone?

Collier de dressage, collier etrangleur

Thanks @vero.

Which were made illegal in 2023, with a fine up to €150,000.

Yes but what Karen wanted to know was what they are called.

To propose to her neighbour.

Ah. No then.

Given the circumstances, maybe she should

Quite apart from anything else choke chains work only when the dog is on the lead so I don’t know how that would stop the dogs in question escaping and invading as they seem left to their own devices.

Oh, what a pity.

Unfortunately I can’t have been the only one risking sounding too enthusiastic about that type of dog chain, then  .

Another good idea bites the.dust !

Update on the dogs shortly… I’m taking it slowly and carefully. As the one thing I’d like to.avoid is 30 years of the neighbours from hell. But a gauntlet has been laid down to them for next week. Depending on results I have my.following steps planned.

I’ll update when something juicy happens
