Le Pen appeal

Due to be announced this afternoon, from 13h30, though it may take some time to be read.

The appellant is on TF1 tonight at 20h.

Yes, saw it advertised although depends on the verdict, she could be locked up but I doubt it very much, probably just get a fine and banned from presidential hopes. However look at Sarko now, they did not treat him lightly

I’m just hoping they confirm the disqualification, which seemed just to me.

Her old hoppo and past squeeze is the mayor of Perp and of this agglomeration and has been accused of wrong doing along with her in the past year or so and he is still in office wielding the power, so who knows what the verdict will be. From what people were saying on the news last night, her right hand man JB is too young to be president in their eyes so lets h ope he does not get a foot in the door

Her ‘right hand man’ as you put it is not so close any more since his hook up with new girlfriend Princess Maria Carolina. With her wealth and her father putting up whatever it costs for her to be first lady, he does not need MleP as before…

Much better Marine is absolved as she might just be able to stop Bardella’s ambition.

That’s the funniest thing I’ve read today

Think that’s perhaps a bit of a put-up for media consumption.

The supposed snatched paparazzi shots were apparently staged for Bolloré’s media outlets.

Tha appeal judge has confirmed the guilty verdict and the sentence is three years, two suspended and one with an electronic tag. The court seems to have said it’s her decision on whether to run but she’s said before that she wouldn’t campaign wearing a tag. It seems a bit confusing and the Beeb seem to think she may clarify later.

Thought you might like that. Remember how he complained though. If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime!

Plus 15 months ineligibility, considered already served.

So she can stand, if I understand correctly. (And if BFMTV, which was the first chaine I found, honest, is correct.)

But she will have to wear a tag.

Seems she is going to run

I think she’s a good chance. It’s sort of been a long time coming :slightly_frowning_face:

That’s a shame. And she’s appealed the court’s decision.

If anyone is interested, Louis Aliot is on BFM now. As I don’t like him or Appoline de Malherbe, I’m not watching.

I was pondering earlier on how someone can stand for election having been convicted and still serving a sentence. If I understood what was said on TF1 earlier, MLP is presumed innocent because she’s appealed yesterday’s verdict?
