Held in Loches, this is well worth a visit (15€). We went today. Loads to see.

A médiévales festival was held here last week. We only went to the free stuff, but was fun. I think people who dressed up got reduced entry to the paying bit, or maybe the general public were just hugely enthusiastic.
I did feel for some of the professionals who had thick wool outfits, and leggings, cloaks, headgear etc.

Yes, today is the third and final day of the paid-for festival. A friend was playing the part of an Archevêque and introduced us to one of the people in armour. His helmet weighed 6 kilos alone. He was a big lad, though, must have been more than 190cm tall.
The fighting, fortunately with blunt swords, will have left them all with plenty of bruises.
