I need to order some logs for Christmas for my open fire. I know they are sold in 'steres'
but I've no idea how much this would be or how many stere I would need to order to last a while. I am hoping someone on here can give some guidance.
It is worth asking around as prices do vary. I pay a neighbour 50€ a sterre for logs delivered, the woodyard down the road charges 65€ + delivery. Last winter I got through 6 sterres for our woodburner (in addition to the electricity for the heatpump) but it was a cold winter ( like the one we are about to get ?).
Great thank you. Think I'll order 2/3 and store them in garage. Then I know I won't run out and will have some (hopefully) if it gets really cold when we are at the house again Feb/March time.
A stere is one cubic meter. Or one pallet load in my case. They last between one and two weeks in our setup during the height of winter. Should be about 55 euros.
