Salary range = Annual gross €25,903 - €35,864*

The American Battle Monuments Commission in Garches, France is seeking applications for the position of Mail/File Clerk/Driver, LES-06 in its Logistics Directorate.

Reporting to the Director of Logistics, responsible for the maintenance of central files, mail processing (receiving and posting) of regular and APO/DPO pouch service; control stocks of brochures, pamphlets and standard forms for dispatch to the 24 ABMC installations in Europe, Pacific, Mediterranean, Central America; issues and arranges for the maintenance of official vehicles of the agency and acts as back-up driver for VIPs and Commissioners.

The successful candidate must have a valid French Driver‘s Permit and will have completed secondary school or its equivalent. In addition, two years of clerical work experience is required.


Mail handling experience is desired. A good working knowledge of both English and French is required as well as a knowledge of postal regulations, personal computer operations and office administration. The incumbent must be able to lift packages weighing up to 50 pounds (20 kilos) continuously and have the ability to work methodically without close supervision; to follow and interpret guidelines and regulations; and, to deal with confidential information with discretion. The successful candidate will process excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
