Measles. The deniers wishes are coming true!

I’ll have to go searching Paul…it’s quite a while ago…maybe one of the drivers for an aluminium free rabies vaccine resulting in the mercury vaccine…??? I know when I was making my preparations to come to Brittany it involved a major discussion with our vet…My youngest had natural immunity and had never been vaccinated…in fact he’d never stepped foot in a vets in the whole of his life before then…x

Oh my… so the early one, the injection… that did not necessarily “hit the right spot”… hence my reaction (and others presumably).

research Nellie. It comes from researching the topic.

I think we should remind ourselves that the pharmaceutical companies have only our best interests at heart and that their promise to their shareholders is to endeavour to make everyone well, cure all illnesses and then happilly close down their multi billion dollar industry; rather than getting more & more people on more & more medication, so perpetuating their growth in profits.

Oh Geoff  with my rose-coloured specs… I like to think that any company that comes up with something “good” will promote same… and thus gain credence and investments for more research on every plane… :relaxed:

Quick, lets change the subject and remind everyone how evil “Big Pharma” is, Vaccines are made by “Big Pharma” so they must be evil too.

Research is great, but how impartial is your research? Are you unbiasedly reading every point and coming to a logical conclusion ? Or are you looking for confirmation of what you already suppose to be the case ?

I have no doubt that a small number have suffered issues following vaccination, but it’s small number in the bigger picture and less than would have had problems from the illness. Some people do have issues with the Big Pharmaceutical companies and they are certainly not always the most ethical . However (for examples )would you want to go back to patients having to suffer or have major surgery for ulcers instead of PPIs ? There are alternatives to warfarin that take away the need for regular blood tests and that inconvenience , previously life shortening illnesses are now controlled. It’s not just about putting people on drugs to make profits

Twice in my life I’ve lived next to and socialised with scientists who worked for large pharmaceutical companies, Smith Kline Beecham in Worthing in the U.K. and Bayer in Krefeld in Germany. I’m sure that the company bosses and their shareholders are keen to make big profits but the people I met who worked in the labs, especially the research chemists, were some of the most professional people I’ve ever met, they all had a huge interest in their work and were driven by the desire to create better drugs with fewer side issues. At least one of those I know wasn’t profit motivated as he turned down a lucrative offer from a smaller company because they could not offer him the same professional opportunities as Beechams.

its a good point you make Nellie. It is easy to fall into that trap I agree.
Like us all, I imagine, I have no axe to grind, I only want what is best for my family and that will hopefully be good for us all.
Nobody can read / know everything about this or any other topic, and we can all bounce figures and statistics to each other till the cows come home - each time ‘proving’ the point we want to make.
I am not a specialist in this subject, my interest only starting almost two years ago when my first grandchild was born. I have just read widly and reached a conclusion.
I admit that my conclusion has been swayed by points other than medical statistics; points such as these:
The pharma industry parliamentary lobby is the biggest in the world and is more than twice as big as its nearest rival - the oil industry.
The companys do not test their vaccinations thoroughly like they would have to other drugs.
The companys are immune from prosecution from vaccine injury claims.
No government trials have been carried out to see if there is any link between vaccines and autism type dissorders.
There has been innadequate study of the potential danger of injecting aluminium into babies.
I could go on. But perhaps not;

“La vie est une maladie mortelle sexuellement transmissible” “Life is a sexually transmited fatal illness”. You can do all the research you can, you will never be able to sort out this one. Pharma industry can’t do anything about it !

On the subject of Feline Injection Site Sarcomas (FISS) - not being a vet I wasn’t aware of it (though we have had plenty of cats over the years and I am pretty dischuffed that no vet has ever mentioned this risk which is actually pretty high) but I had a quick look at some papers this morning.

It is a problem which has been recognised for well over 20 years - importantly, for this discussion, it can occur with other types of injection, not just vaccinations, and not just those which have aluminium adjuvant although there is a paper which showed that in 42 of 198 tumours there were surrounding lymphocytes and macrophages containing foreign material identical to that previously described in postvaccinal inflammatory injection site reactions so they are clearly implicated.

The initial problems were recognised after a mandatory rabies injection programme for cats. Chronic inflammation has been suggested as a factor which seems plausible but this seems to be a problem unique to cats - I do not think you can extrapolate this issue to make any comment about the general safety of aluminium adjuvant or the safety of vaccination with or without aluminium adjuvant in humans.

However, it certainly sounds like something that you would want to discuss with your vet before vaccinating a cat.

Very interesting programme I watched recently, Chris Packham “Asperger’s and Me”. Well I found it interesting anyway! Just checked and it’s on YouTube if anyone fancies a look.

Yes, I saw that

Yes unfortunately animal vaccines are huge business too…lots of research out there that proves after a first vaccine the animal is protected for at least 7 years if not for life…no annual boosters necessary…there is a titre test available to check circulating antibodies rather than vaccinate unnecessarily…

Have to admit Babeth that if they announced a vaccine tomorrow against cancer or Alzheimer’s that as things stand at the minute…then no I wouldn’t have either as I feel vaccines (amongst other factors) are implicated…

Like everyone I long for a cure for cancer and Alzheimer’s …but I can’t see it being delivered by yet another vaccine…

I think the cure for cancer is out there…I think it’s already known about…I think it’s all natural and probably plant based…current legislation including but not limited to the 1939 cancer act make it difficult not to fall foul of “the law” when seeking alternative treatment…

The rise in cancer amongst young children and young people is really difficult for me…maybe I’m over exposed to it due to current circumstances with my own daughter but she supports all the local and non local children battling cancer…seeing their brave little faces are a daily occurrence for me…finding out that one has died affects me…I feel the same about anyone struggling with cancer/Alzheimer’s…no matter what age…it’s way past time to find the cure…x

A million kids dying from pneumonia every year, vaccine available, much cheaper than antibiotics, I had it as a baby, luckily for me Doc Flemming had recently ‘done his stuff’, but another preventable child killer! :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

This arrived in my in box today. Talking about the use of aluminium in vaccins. No doubt some of you have already seen it but I will post just in case …
