I try and only buy local products, but this is good news for imported stuff.

Hormones in imported beef should be banned too, plus beef raised on feed lots.

European consumer protection is much stronger than US or Australian.
No growth hormones and antibiotics are heavily restricted (farmers still use them though).
Meat bought from a supermarket must have a label with country of origin, farm, abatoir etc. Or jyst ask at the butcher - they can tell the farm etc of the beef they sell.
Just wish the beef would be aged a bit longer - those old dairy cows are sometimes mighty tough…
