I’m slightly surprised the link below hasn’t been posted already. I remember discovering Leonard Cohen in the the late 1960s through John Peel, but then rediscovering him by chance a decade or so ago through a live TV broadcast of his Albert Hall concert. He seemed to be the first of my teenage heroes who had subsequently dealt with our shared experiences of ageing and accumulation of experience and memories.

There was a less enjoyable period featuring Anne Nightingale ; &
later when it became “Whistle Test”, but for the most part, they had some epic bands.
