For our visit we brought over one of our Roberts radios with great sq and we’ve been listening almost exclusively to a station called ‘Musique’. It’s great having mostly a mix of classical and jazz. It’s a non commercial offering.

Spotify (Douce France - Les plus belles ballades et versions acoustiques de la chanson Françoise) and

Spotify (Fine Fleur - Le meilleur de la chanson Francophone de ces dèrniers année)

Never noticed this post before. I look forward to playing the above tracks :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve always loved listening to Roy Orbison.

Years after his death I discovered that an old school friend of mine used to be involved with some of his tours… and I was very pleased to hear that he was as nice a person “out of the limelight” as he seemed to be when performing…

Singing with his 8 year old daughter

I forget how many years ago it was when I heard someone singing on the radio, here in France, but I immediately switched on a tape recorder and managed to record most of the song. This was in the days of tape cassettes & CDs. But I had no idea who the singer was.

Somehow, I found the phone number of a record shop in Oxford Street, London, and rang. I explained why and put the tape player close to the phone and the young woman on the line immediately said Andrea Bocelli, and she also told me the name of the song – Canto Della Terra. Went to the local supermarket and found the CD on sale.

Never looked back – think he’s wonderful.

Only just found this video in which I see Elizabeth Taylor and Michael Jackson in the audience. Just listened to the CD version which is, but just only, marginally better, especially with earphones!
