My OH badgered me to check that our uk votes were still in place, and do you know what, the council had let them expire (name and shame Cambridge), and lied about sending us reminders.
Better check yours now.
If the office are as rubbish as ours they might then send out the postal votes too late (!), so I suggest using a proxy vote if there is some old neighbour you can trust
