I have recently moved to Montpellier from Canada. I wonder if anyone can recommend a naturopathic physician in the Montpellier area that is able to speak some english?
I can find Homeopathic practitioners, but more difficult to find Naturopaths. Are they called something else here?
Try my friend Louise, she works in conjunction with a number of English speaking alternative health professionals and may be able to point you in the right direction. Tell her I gave you her details.
A naturopathic physician practices a number of disciplines including, nutritional health, as well as holistic treatments. This can include homeopathy, herbal therapies, acupuncture, chelation, and any other variety of "alternative" therapies. I asked a french friend and he wasn't familiar with the term "naturopath" and when I looked it up online (mind you this was several months back), I couldn't find much listed.
The above describes, more-or-less, what a Naturopath is. In Canada, they are required to receive formal training and a doctorate in it to practice - not sure what the criteria is here in France.
Tracy - Thanks for the link. I looked and will make an inquiry to see if she speaks any english. My french is mediocre, and I feel for health related issues, I would rather have clarity and full understanding both ways. I'll also check the yellow pages again too.
quick look on Pages Jeunes comes up with 'naturopathe' SOINS HORS D'UN CADRE RÉGLEMENTÉ and there are 52 options, no 3 is this one http://www.scarlett-sante-nature.fr/
